Expel Wind Damp: Xi Xian Cao

Xi Xian Cao -- Cools and sedates the Liver.

Xi = rare, hope, or to expect / strive for

Xian = Vine

Cao = Herb

I'm listening to a lovely song as I study this herb, and I think the music's got me all gaga over Xi Xian Cao. Everything I read about it seems dreamy. Maybe it wants to go out on a date with me? For starters, its name - the translation into English of Xi, "rare, hope, striving"...so poetic, deep, and sexy. Okay, so I'm listening to Eddie Vedder singing with Ravi Shankar. Poetic, deep, and sexy. And the song is pacifying my liver in the way that Xi Xian Cao could.

Xi Xian Cao goes to the Liver and Kidney. It is cool and bitter, but if you add some wine to it, it becomes sweet and warm. How lovely. Eddie, would you like some Cabernet?

Xi Xian Cao will soothe spasms and cramps, weakness and paralysis.

Xi Xian Cao will clear heat and pacify the Liver, specifically headache, dizziness, and red eyes due to Liver fire.

Xi Xian Cao will take care of that damp heat itch!

Xi Xian Cao is used for hypertension.

Do not take it if you are blood or yin deficient.

Note, the woman above has no numbness, spasms, or cramps. Her Liver is pacified, her eyes are clear, she has no headache, her damp-heat itch is gone, and she has no hypertension at all. Was it Eddie Vedder? Was it the red wine? or was it Xi Xian Cao?
