Expel Wind Damp: Qin Jiao

Qin Jiao: For the young and old!

My Qin Jiao looks like Long Dan Cao. I think they messed up at Mayway. They both go to the Liver and Stomach. Qin Jiao also goes to the GB. They are both bitter and cold and both come from the family Gentiana. So, it makes sense, but still is annoying.

Qin Jiao - COOL and MOIST, BITTER and SPICY

The cliff notes:

LV/GB, ST

This herb is good for low body sinews and collaterals.

It clears heat from deficiency, but doesn't nourish the yin (notice it does not go to the kidney, which I associate with yin nourishing).

If your baby is born with acute infant jaundice, Qin Jiao can be used.

It will also help to unblock those bowels!

This is a weird combination of indications that I'll never remember unless I make a picture of them.

Above: This elderly woman has blocked bowels, deficient heat symptoms (low tidal fever, night sweats, steaming bones), and rheumatic aching. She needs Qin Jiao!

Above: This little baby was born with acute infant jaundice. He needs Qin Jiao, too!
