Caution during pregnancy
The cold Zhen Zhu goes into Heart and Liver channels clearing heat, and thereby calming the spirit and Liver. Pearls are made up of calcium carbonate and biopolymers (which are silk-like proteins); thus, it makes sense that pearl would promote healing and generate flesh, and nourish/augment the yin.
